Family and Community Partnerships

We know that the toughest and most rewarding job in the world is being a parent. That is why Family Services, Inc., is dedicated to providing parents with a variety of educational and informational resources to produce the best outcomes for children. Our Family and Community Partnership Programs are designed to link our families with the community resources they need to achieve self-suffiency, while at the same time providing them with the parenting education and support they need. After all, parents are their children’s first and best teachers, but a little help is always welcomed! | 
Baby Steps provides hospital based health screening for all moms. The goal of the program is to ensure that all moms will be given the opportunity to request or be referred to health, early childhood and /or community support services.
Early Head Start serves 75 low-income families with children birth to three years and pregnant women who reside in upper Montgomery County. Services include fostering the development of infants and toddlers, teaching families child development fundamentals and effective parenting skills, conducting health assessments and providing case management and employment/training referrals.
Healthy Families Montgomery serves first time parents residing in Montgomery County facing multiple burdens to ensure healthy childhood growth and development and enhanced family functioning. Families receive home visits, case management, health education, child development, and parent education and support groups.
Help Me Learn serves families in the Silver Spring area. Through home visits, Help Me Learn provides quality home based services and activities for families with children ages 3-5 who are not enrolled in an organized preschool program.
Programs for City of Gaithersburg Residents:
Ed Bohrer Parent Resource Center provides parents with information and referrals to community resources; individual, group and family counseling; and literacy classes in English and Spanish.
Housing Counselor provides comprehensive services including renter assitance, eviction prevention and money/debt management.
