That's why the Family Services Agency offers a range of prevention and early intervention programs for children, including developmental screenings, in-home visits by trained staff and even training sessions for new parents. At Family Services we believe that early childhood development is the key to children getting ahead in school. |
Services
Connect for Success is a unique intervention program that provides onsite consultation to childcare settings. Experienced mental health professionals will help educators identify and address emotional, behavioral and other developmental concerns with specific strategies for improvement.
Early Head Start serves low-income families with children from birth to three years and pregnant women who reside in upper Montgomery County. Services include fostering the development of infants and toddlers, teaching families child development fundamentals and effective parenting skills, conducting health assessments .
Healthy Families Montgomery serves first time parents residing in Montgomery County facing multiple burdens to ensure healthy childhood growth and development and enhanced family functioning. Families receive home visits, case management, health education, child development and parent education and support groups.
Frameworks for Families provides services to families referred by Child Welfare Services. Services include family skills training and referrals to community resources.
Outpatient Mental Health Clinic is a community-based clinic at which licensed mental health professionals provide outpatient counseling and medication assessment and monitoring services for children, adults, couples and families. Should medication be needed, psychiatrists and staff provide comprehensive assessment for the use of medication and education and monitoring to achieve optimal clinical outcomes for the consumer.
Partners in Caring is an enriched childcare program employing a multi-disciplinary staff to provide creative integrated educational, recreational and therapeutic services for children. Programs currently take place at Fox Chapel Elementary and Summit Hall Elementary Schools.
Substance Abuse Prevention Education provides workshops to pre-schoolers and their parents. Using the DARE to be You curriculum, modules focus on improving parent and child communication, problem solving, self-esteem and family skills.
